SPRINGFIELD III

Matt Groening, ha desvelado el verdadero lugar donde se encuentra Springfield, lo ha revelado en una entrevista a Smithsoniang.com, el enlace es el siguiente:

El fragmento en el que dice a que Springfield se refiere es este:


Periodista:   OK, why do the Simpsons live in a town called Springfield? Isn’t that a little generic?

Matt:   Springfield was named after Springfield, Oregon. The only reason is that when I was a kid, the TV show “Father Knows Best” took place in the town of Springfield, and I was thrilled because I imagined that it was the town next to Portland, my hometown. When I grew up, I realized it was just a fictitious name. I also figured out that Springfield was one of the most common names for a city in the U.S. In anticipation of the success of the show, I thought, “This will be cool; everyone will think it’s their Springfield.” And they do.

Bueno básicamente dice que como con el resto de cosas y personajes de la serie, lo tomo de algo de su vida, el estado de Oregon donde se encuentra Portland, su ciudad nata ( en el post SPRINFIELD II que Ego escribió, hay un pequeño error, no es Portland de Missouri, sino de Oregon, es un error normal ya que hay por lo menos 4 Porltand distintas), jugando con la ambigüedad del nombre de Springfield, que practicamente hay una en cada estado.
